Free website check

How is your website really doing?

Type an address and in about a minute you'll see how it does in Google, how fast it is on a phone, whether it's secure and whether everyone can use it, with the biggest problems in plain words.

No account or card. Your email is used only to send the link.

What it looks at

The same checks TideStat runs every day

Once, for free. Monitored sites get these on a schedule, with alerts and a monthly report.

Google search

Up to 10 pages: titles and summaries, headings, broken links, pages hidden from Google by mistake, and the sitemap.

Speed on a phone

Google's own speed test, as a visitor on a phone sees the site, with how long the main content takes to appear.

Security

The certificate behind the padlock, and the server from outside. Server problems are counted, not shown to everyone.

Accessibility

Whether people using a screen reader or a keyboard can use the site, from the same test.

In plain words

The ten biggest problems, worst first, each with why it matters and what to do about it.

Kept for 30 days

The results stay at their own link, to share with whoever looks after the site, then they're deleted.

For agencies

Do this for every prospect, in your name

The prospect audit in TideStat runs the same checks on any website and turns them into a PDF to send before the first call: the scores, the biggest problems in plain words, and your branding on white-label plans.

Questions about the check

Is it really free?

Yes. No account and no card. Each visitor can run a few checks a day, and a site checked in the last day shows those results again rather than checking again.

What does it check?

Up to 10 pages for what Google reads (titles, summaries, headings, links, pages Google can't index), Google's own speed test on a phone, the security certificate, accessibility, and the server from outside.

Why are some security problems hidden?

Anyone can check any website, so we never show a site's weak spots, such as outdated software or files left public, to whoever asks. The results count them; the site's owner sees the details in TideStat once they prove the site is theirs.

What happens to my email address?

It's optional. If you give it, we use it only to send you the link to your results, and delete it with the results after 30 days.

Does the check affect the site?

No. It reads public pages the way a search engine does, at a considerate pace, and never logs in or fills in forms.

I'm an agency. Can I brand it for prospects?

Yes: the prospect audit in TideStat runs the same checks and gives you a PDF to send, with your branding on white-label plans. 10 a month on Agency 10, 30 on Agency 25 and 100 on Agency 100.
